I’m currently working on a solution that will also work on devices where WebView has issues, such as the TCL Flip2.
I’m using Firefox’s GeckoView.
I’d appreciate it if you could update me on whether it works well.
Important note – this app is not filtered at all. It loads the Jtech page, but you can navigate to any other website from it.
So, don’t use it permanently—just let me know if it works well, and I’ll continue development.
I know this makes the app very large, (660MB ~ )
but that’s because I’m including the browser engine inside the APK—unlike a regular WebView app that uses the engine already installed on the device.
It will be available on my Drive until מוצ"ש, אור לט"ז באדר תשפ"ה, Israel time.
Back key closes the app instead of returning to the previous page.
This is expected behavior, which will of course be fixed in the final app
Regarding the rest: @mufandchush Can you send a screenshot of the problem with the X? I didn’t understand it. @Dev-In-the-BM, when the app is ready, I’d be happy to receive suggestions for improvement can you write them?
Note: My rabbi believes that it is forbidden to write code on Chol HaMoed, so I will only start working on the app after Pesach.
If downloads don’t work, then it makes sense that uploads don’t either work.
These aren’t bugs, this app isn’t meant to be a finished product, its meant to be a test to make sure that it renders the website normally, and thats it.
Now that we’ve tested it out and seen that it does display the site normally, when he has time, @A.I.V will go on to the next stage of making a kosher, functional app.
