Cat S22 Flip Android Auto Magisk Module

Here is a Magisk Module to run Android Auto on the Cat.
After Installing the Module: Restart the phone, update Android Auto from the play store, then go to Settings > Apps > See All Apps > Android Auto > Permissions and Allow all Permissions, then go to Settings > Apps > Advanced > Special App Access > Notification Access and allow Android Auto

Before Removing the Module: You need to uninstall Android Auto Updates or you will be stuck in a bootloop and need to Factory Data Reset. To uninstall go to update Android Auto from the play store, then go to Settings > Apps > See All Apps > Android Auto > 3 Dots (top right) > Uninstall Updates

Thanks to @ekjr for figuring out the low_ram fix and getting Android Auto to work!

Yup

Nice, it works perfectly! you deserve TL4 for that. I never successfully made a magisk module before :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

This has been added as an official guide on our website at https://jtechforums.org/guides/install-android-auto-cat-s22-flip

The guide itself has been rephrased to make it more user-friendly but the module and instructions has been published.

Thank you!

What’s the practical difference between the magisk module and the “kitty-small-cat-super-debloated-with-android-auto” ?

The magisk module is for people who have a rooted phone and do not want a new ROM.
The kiddie ROM you don’t need root but you will be flashing a whole new ROM.

How do I install the kitty ROM, and what other changes will be experienced except android auto over the stock ROM?

Is it safe to relock the bootloader after flashing the kitty ROM ?

Don’t have the phone but I am going to say no

No unless its signed

if you uninstall the magisk app, will it keep the module on the phone or will it mess it up?

Where are you uninstalling from? The file manager or from Magisk?

As long as you don’t unroot the phone, modules should continue working, even if you uninstall the magisk manager app.

If you unroot, it’s gone. Do not click uninstall from within the magisk manager app. Normal uninstall only.

Let me know if you have any issues, but this is what I do.

I wanted to get my maps back so i removed module but not getting it back i even tried enabling maps with @TripleU mdm but no luck

You mean instead of the stub?

I don’t have a cat s22, not sure what you mean.

This magisk module disables google maps right?
