Copying Sonim signature to install apps

It will not install it is made for android 13 xp3800 is android 8.1

Ah. I need an unsigned APK of something supported and I will make it

Don’t want to build anything. Got a link?

It also has to be smaller than 5.1mb because that’s what I’m copying it from.

If I use apktool and rebuild it will be unsigned right?

Can you change a feature in the app which then it needs to be resigned?

not my area of expertise @chatzie @HalachiDev @TripleU

Try this. Decompiled and recompiled with apktool, then copied signature.

test.apk (4.9 MB)

Android 7.1 and newer.

Tried as a regular install on my tcl parsed but no install

Installs on my OnePlus 12 no issue, let’s wait for someone with a sonim. Longshot, but maybe

App manager said invalid apk file

Then that’s a wrap

Obviously won’t verify even if it’s signed. Was worth a shot

This was on my tcl also didn’t it install on you oneplus

Yes it installed. I have many modifications though

What do you mean?

I realized after I said that it installed on my phone that I use corepatch. Pretty sure it will always return true no matter what.

just to post my research, I tried many different stuff and tricks including apktool m copying signature from stock app and nothing worked. it seems like they have a thorough check to ensure its securely signed which is impossible to bypass without stealing their private key which is also pretty impossible.
