Did anyone ever try the torch phone looked at one for 5 minutes looks like a solid device
Well, definitely not gonna get better on a basic phone that’s cost efficient
Also, why is kPhone and kosher os bad?
if it lacks 5 or more of the features that i wrote - then it’s bad
So get a pixel 9 or samsung s25 ultra and put gentech or some other reliable filter on it maybe egate would work for you as a filter option then you will have all the features you want
got those likes because you are asking for a smartphone that flip so i have you a suggestion
True, but I don’t want to pay each month.
And I want it as a flip phone.
And I want it to be “born kosher” so it’s 100% that I have a kosher phone / filter.
The answer is pretty simple.
There are two categories of people here:
1:
People who want the classic basic/flip/kosher/whateveryouwannacallit phone. This means a phone that can call, text, has media capabilities, no browsing capabilities, can’t install apps.
BUT
They’re sick and tired of the quality of the phones we have now. They’re slow, many lack basic features, most are very junky, and ridiculously overpriced.
They want it kosher and basic. But the basics it has should be complete. The camera should be usable. The keyboard/input should be complete, with full dictionary, autosuggest, copying pasting text, voice to text, etc.
Everything should just work.
According to todays standards, with todays technology.
Oh, and it should have Waze. (Because we’re dependent on Waze like were dependent on coffee.)
Fig seems to have done a pretty good job with this, but they’re notoriously junky, and overpriced.
Sounds like the Wonder phone might have done an even better job, maybe better quality, I don’t know anything so I can’t say, but its even more expensive.
So there still isn’t an affordable solution.
From what I’ve heard, the keyphone might be the answer, but there isn’t too much info about them from any official sources, and they’ve been in beta and not available forever, and there’s no indication when it’ll be released.
2:
People who basically want filtered smartphones, but can’t be seen having a smartphone.
For them, the cat and quin were a solution, until they were recognized as smartphones, and were pretty much banned by the yeshivishe velt.
So they now want a new device that should look like a regular kosher phone on the outside, but allow them to have whatever they want on it.
A lot of them want such a device to come with a kosher ROM. There aresmartphonescandy bar touchscreen phones like that, but nokosherflip keypad phones like that.
And thats pretty much the story with this thread, and half of this forum.
So they now want a new device that should look like a regular kosher phone on the outside, but allow them to have whatever they want on it.
If it is being sold as a “kosher phone” it won’t have whatever people want. It might have a lot of features but nothing outright forbidden.
So get a pixel 7 or an s21.
Gentech is amazing its 100% kosher
or do you want a phone like this
You got the second one wrong. Or, almost right.
The second category is people who want a kosher phone, with much more capability, and don’t wanna be seen with a smartphone - why?
Because a smartphone, qin, and cat - are all the same.
The same in the sense that they are not BORN KOSHER.
that’s the main part you missed.
Everybody knows that a fig is kosher, because it’s born kosher - it was made that way and there’s no way to break it open.
I wouldn’t mind a "born kosher smartphone. But it’s not recognizable / distinguishable between a other non kosher smartphone.
The jbiz or whatever was a good idea, but size was terrible. Flip phone style is the best way.
So now you understand - there’s kosher, and there’s born kosher + apps etc.
Like imagine gentech came out with a different-than-usual sized phone. I would buy it.
The way you said the second strategy is lame, cuz everybody knows which phones are kosher - but don’t know which ones aren’t - which makes having a cat useless even though you do have a filter.
I hope you understand.
What’s wrong with the qin f30
Not born kosher. Wait - it is!
The grey color wasn’t enough
So get a Unihertz Titan and kosher the Rom, or get the koshered version, the Kphone
Again, it’s not born kosher.
And, the shape and size sucks.
And, it lacks many features.
My daily main phone is a unihertz jelly star with MBsmart
As far as I’m aware, tag approved the Kphone.
Could be, don’t remember
I guess we’ll wait and see if such thing ever happens
Ain’t pinning any hopes
There are no phones born kosher they are all running android system not born kosher all just modified android so i think your best bet is get the samsung s21 with gentech its built into knox so have fun getting around it you could try but i don’t think you will be successful but either way you want a phone that most people don’t care for and don’t want so i don’t think there is much of a market for it. Why does it need to flip?
I was referring to the play store , not play services
Gentech by the way isn’t so perfect, even for smartphones, it heavily slows down the data/Internet
