With version 1.18, when I try putting in the license key, it just says this app has stopped working and closes the app.

???

Can you verify that the device has an internet connection when entering the key?

Just for everyone’s information, I did find the problem. Android app layout is slightly different on different devices, and in @Flip2Talk 's case, the login button was hidden behind the app banner at the top. A fix for this will be included in the next version of eGate.

Is it not possible to add a update button in the egate app kind of like what magisk has, and even showing you when there is a new update?

Version 1.19 released here:

@DonBot , this fixes the reseller licensing problems we encountered. And also the hidden login button problem that @Flip2Talk had.

What about a option to login by sending a one time code to a specific email

@FlipAdmin Thanks for your time to get the Filter back up and running on my device.

On another note…

Tried enabling accessibility filter to block in app webview, but most or alot of apps just crash when trying to open them, from elal airlines app, hebrew cal, and more. So i had no choice to just turn it off. Though i can start adding exceptions to all the apps. Then again its pointless. As only the apps with webveiw acces is crashing. So didnt serve any purpose when on.

It seems there was an update to show package names by the unhide apps. But doesn’t look like that update was ever pushed through. Still not showing. Got to guess the correct app to enable it.

Lastly the block app settings doesn’t seem to do anything. Even after turning it on all apps seem to showing and can access in apps.

Thanks for the update. But when are going to see more features on egate such as, restrict the uninstallation of a app, and such?

Due to some fundamental limitations of the Android management APIs, it’s really hard to get the package name of hidden apps. I’ve given up trying to get this working.

What language is your phone set to?

Have to fix the bugs first.

To eGate, or to the reseller app?

True that

Why cant you make it that when someone hides an app, it saves the package name to an eGate local storage?

There is still the fault that even with that one time code, the person can:

  • Disable or Enable settings that they shouldnt have
  • Unhide apps they shouldnt have
  • Attempt to keep eGate open in the app tray as long as possible to temporarily unhide an app

Maybe a better idea is:
The user can go to eGate, press request change, make the changes he wants to make, and when he presses save, it says please get the code emailed to your Administrator, and if he inputs the correct code, the changes he made will apply
