As many of you know, we’ve always loved the way the Qin F21 shows the Hebrew date right on the main screen.
While the HebDate app has widgets, none of them felt quite right for the main widget — so I built my own.
It works perfectly.
Just place it in /system/app, and it’ll update quietly in the background like the Qin.

Doesn’t seem to be working. I put it in said location via FX and granted permissions, rebooted, and it doesn’t do anything.

(Or set default workspace XML in quickstep source… Sqlite from launcher prefs.db etc.)
How do I insert the widget manually?

you swipe it in - hold down the home screen and select widgets, and drag in the clock.
what? On a flip phone? No, that won’t work unless you predefine your launcher where to put it - very hard to do. Maybe i’ll make a guide…

What about on the Qin?
For a ROM? same plan. for a widget? swipe it in… like any widget.
For a widget. On the Qin, long pressing doesn’t bring up widgets.

Using the aiv forum app and don’t have access to my computer at the moment. If anyone else can send it that would be helpful.

This is not a launcher. It has the ID of a launcher, but is built straight up from source… so there are no widgets, there are just default words to put: like the time randomly in the middle of the screen… so yes, I need the source code to continue.
