Can’t argue with that.
Now, if you don’t mind, I’d like to get some clarity on the speaker issue.
You posted this guide on the issue. Out of the box - my speaker obviously worked. Followed some XDA guides and installed 1.1.1 - broke the speaker. Flashed the restore firmware, 1.0.8, still no speaker. Followed your guide on 1.0.8 and 1.1.1 - still nothing (complained about that here). Flashed A.I.V roms - still nothing. Flashed 6.1.3 NEW and poof. Wanted TWRP, so I flashed the boot from 1.1.1 - lost the speaker. Took the kernel from 6.1.3 new and added it into the boot of 1.1.1 - poof speaker was back.
This was my experience. Fact. Now for the speculation: Based on this it seems to me (and also based on how unix systems operate) that the kernel is responsible for low level sw → hw communication. It makes sense that the kernel changed in new batches - possibly reflecting a hardware change as some parts - like the speaker - became unavailable and were replaced with new parts (happens often in device production).
It seems obvious to me that there was a change in the kernel (which lives in the boot) and patching the boot to use the new kernel would fix the issue. Your thoughts? @ars18
