Iām sure many people wouldāve been happy to get their act together and deliver a functional solution for the community had they though that they had a .01% chance of succeeding in getting their solution adopted.
Iād point out that @Groupus and @TELTECH also built solutions and were active and engaged with the community, and that GroupItUp (claims) they only didnāt open because another service was arbitrarily promoted. Others had ideas as well, as Iām sure you came across if you read these forums.
That doesnāt take away from what anyone else did, but from what I understand some people are frustrated that this seems to have been a back channel solution - as they were hoping for something more open, and for community/user input to be considered. Obviously, companies are entitled to do as they did, and I understand the hesitations about opening something like this to the public, nevertheless some of the concerns expressed with a proprietary approach remain, namely we donāt know anything about our data security, our privacy, or if expensive premium phones are going to turn into ad farms. We also canāt build out additions or features which would have been nice.
I will definitely be using Tzibbur, and it seems beautiful in simplicity, however I took the time to write this post because your comment of āstepping up instead of just standing on the side complainingā seems almost a dig at people who are (somewhat justifiably) frustrated that they could not help when they wanted to, and at the loose ends in the solution (like privacy for example). Itās easy to be flippant if these things do not concern you, but this solution is aiming to service a huge population and it does concern others.

But the difference is that the Kosher Phone companies will allow and include this app with their devices, whereas WhatsApp doesnāt really have a shot. Kinda obvious, no?

i think this really all goes back to @Dev-in-the-BM_2.0 mafia thing cuz in reality there is nothing wrong with kosher whatsapp

I definitely understand his frustration, although I think the word āmafiaā is a little strong. There are community level kashrus and standards as well as business and professionalism standards concerns that had to be taken into account, and I think everyone understands that. Iām more than happy to rest the case at this point because I do not believe that pushing my opinion anymore than I already have is going to change anything. (Not that I ever thought it would, but at least that was before something came out.) @sh7411usa out.
Now back to the Tzibbur topic, here are some observations:
- Tzibbur prompts you to choose a nickname and supply a phone number during the signup process. The phone number can be supplied without a country code.
- To add a member to a group, you use only the phone number. Here they specifically ask you to supply a country code.
- You must have at least three members in a group before they allow messaging.
- Messages are limited to 1000 characters.
Those were not free

Thank you just to point out except for me and @Groupus and , there are other who worked the last few years and invest on this kind of systems Which includes Voitex, Simple Sender, Moday, Eventapp, callpro And more, which is directly or indirectly working in this industry
As of now Tag Agree for me privately that they will give us access we should also be able to use send And receive messages
If itās like this, itās a deal breaker If not, they are just using their power And swept out hundreds of hours, hundreds of $1000 investment which this above companies, including me Have invested time and money to bring products to our community

Btw @TripleU now that you REd the API, what about a GroupMe gateway bot? Can be added to all the existing chats and relay the messages over to Tzibbur.

When will the majority of kosher phones receive this app
Additionally what about bots? dev.tzibbur.me and Tzibbur returns 404
Reliable sources indicate that the app will be released either today or tomorrow to the FIG phones. Letās see if the sources knowā¦
