I have this phone. Its through some sort of app they have running on the device that when you click the updates tab it blocks it

Great way to get your Whatsapp account banned.
Only real way would be real cheap phones to host an account, which is not a terrible idea.
Either a relay server, or Whatsapp web frontend client. Don’t know if that would support calls.

I havent done it for a while but I had multiple accounts on multiple instances of my emulator (I dont remember which one I was using at the time, nox ld memu or bluestacks). I never had banning issues. Do they ban now?

I feel like you might know this. How unstable is lsposed really? With that, you can build a kosher Whatsapp into a ROM.
No chance of ban as it mods the app at runtime, no actual APK modifications.
Updates would be a problem though. I think I answered my own question.
You kinda answered your own question. For my Android Auto rom I added Google Services with MicroG. I enabled signature spoofing by adding an lposed module directly into the framework. You should be able to the same thing for WhatsApp. But you will run into the updates issue.
Yep, that’s the bummer, Whatsapp constantly changes names. Can stay on an old version, but it will get deprecated. Updates remotely would be too much of a pain to do for lsposed modules, and unreliable.
