most of there only apply if they made a phone from scratch but if they built a rom for a phone already on the market that you could buy on ali then there is no extra cost
you have to find a good one first. And you need the certifications in order for it to (properly) with US networks

Also if you do a partnership you won’t be able to do all the things you can do on your own and at the speed you want

Ppl that never looked into how much it actually costs to produce and develop a good working phone that ppl will be happy with, will never realize how big of an investment it actually is
I’ve actually looked into it. Its a massive investment hundreds of thousands…
Its impressive that people are trying, doesn’t change the fact that its still an insane price. But if anyone serious wants to make a good phone for normal prices (~$100) the way to do it would have to be to produce a LOT of pieces, like tens of thousands if not more. And a good way to sell so many is to release it with a carrier…
