Cool!

Hopefully someone finds a safe way to do this
What do you mean?
From what I read they didn’t post how to do this
Isn’t that what @Megalife did
No.
They have a totally different motherboard
Hey, I’m the one building this, i did successfully build android 16 qpr2, everything almost seems to be working fine, except for the secondary display kernel end(as they didn’t give us the kernel source code did all this doing reverse engineering) also camera needs some fixes through device tree. Could i get the kernel source of megalife atleast? Its basically the same phone, i just need to see the files inside drivers/video/fbdev/msm/ mostly just 4-6files need some fixes and it’ll start working.
First of all, welcome to the platform!
@Megalife Is not an open source project - they sell customized phones to the niche kosher/minimalist community (to be clear, I am not affiliated to them. @Megalife correct me if I’m wrong about anything)
Additionally, I don’t think that their kernel would even help you, I’m pretty sure that they use a different qualcomm chipset, even though the body of their device looks very similar.
Your project is very cool and good luck!
Feel free to reach out again if you need anything else, this platform covers the CAT S22 Flip quite extensively
Ah. Yes thanks for letting me know about them, the thing is i just want to look at just 5-6files just to implement it, I’m almost near the finish line, without it I’m a noob so it’ll just take more time but would need to do trail and error things that’s all, wish any similar phone with kernel source code was available.
I don’t know much about Android, but @ars18 and @flipphoneguy could probably lend a hand
I’m not saying this to discourage your efforts, but that’s not gonna happen.
Great work so far!
If I had a cat I would’ve loved to help (not that I’d be successful lol, but maybe.)
Ahhg. Another deadend then lol, I’ll try my best then, well reverse engineered almost everything and even flip open close detection works like primary display turns on and off if we do that, fixed all just stuck at this lol, anyway i know where like which files to fix but I’m just too noob to do it, didn’t expect android 16 to run so smoothly on it but ya thanks!
Nah
not noob
You are right. We are not an open source project we are working directly with the device manufacturer.
Would love to work with you guys for this, ah well, do let me know if you have any openings in your company
also would you guys be kind enough to share the kernel source code?
