Not sure if that’s even grammatically correct

well that’s need to be instead of the message This call is being recorded

app name need to be normal

Figured it out. Rich text editor is now off by default when posting. Used to be on.

Hoping to launch at the end of this week

Quick update: Things are moving faster than I expected, and the app will likely be ready within the next 24-48 hours! :tada:

Installed it.

What’s the reason I need a verification code to start?

I added it mainly to help me see how much the app is actually being used, and also to reduce redistribution or non-personal use. This way, I can make sure the app stays in the right hands and keeps improving for everyone here.

Big thanks to everyone who’s installed it already — your support really keeps me going! :raising_hands:

OnePlus 12, Android 16.

Even when allowing restricted settings, sms is not allowed.

Was able to grant with root shell.

Still says grant permissions to complete setup, but sends an auto reply (1 time, then nothing. How long does it wait in between for the same number?)

Update

This worked for me:

pm grant com.shk.autosmsreply android.permission.SEND_SMS
pm grant com.shk.autosmsreply android.permission.RECEIVE_SMS
pm grant com.shk.autosmsreply android.permission.READ_SMS
pm grant com.shk.autosmsreply android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE
pm grant com.shk.autosmsreply android.permission.RECEIVE_MMS
pm grant com.shk.autosmsreply android.permission.RECEIVE_WAP_PUSH
pm grant com.shk.autosmsreply android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS

It’s not supposed to be the default sms app, is it?

No it cannot be set as default SMS app

It replies to the same number only once per week to prevent spoofing and abuse.

Works great!

If someone doesn’t have an sms app, what happens?

Also, can only set forwarding during setup, but not after?

If forwarding is set, I’m assuming auto reply still get sent.

Well you don’t need a SMS app that your device should boot it can turn on without SMS app and my app will also work with out SMS app

Nothing the replier and the forwarder can be turned on or off or change the settings via the drop down from the main screen

The replier and the forwarder are two separate logics and both can be turned on at once. can be turned off at once. and can also be only one turned on and there’s no way that one logic should affect the other

This and also the fact that your phone will reply to OTP and similar messages and they’ll reply with a message about how it’s a no reply number which your phone will reply to again…. ad infitum… Which might end up with your carrier suspending your number

Only once per week. Wonder if maybe there is an exception for otp codes

Understood. I was giving another reason why it’s a good idea to not respond to every message every time. In case it’s a “no reply” number which will loop endlessly

Most companies would have a limit built in too… Unlike twitter apparently, back in 2023…
