I started mapping out the features for a minimal but powerful call recorder, and here’s what I’ve got so far:

:small_blue_diamond: Call Recording Modes

  • Auto-record all calls
  • Auto-record only incoming
  • Auto-record only outgoing
  • Manual only (no auto record)
  • Rules for specific numbers → always record / never record

:small_blue_diamond: Audio Options

  • Formats: MP3 or WAV
  • Quality: Low (64 kbps) / Medium (128 kbps) / High (256 kbps)
  • Channels: Mono (default) / Stereo (if supported)

:small_blue_diamond: In-Call Controls

  • Record this call
  • Stop recording this call
  • Play file (so both sides hear it)

:small_blue_diamond: App Launcher Behavior

  • Launcher goes straight to Settings screen
  • No built-in recording list or file manager

:small_blue_diamond: Storage & Security

  • Optional auto-delete (by time or space limit)
  • Storage usage overview
  • App lock with PIN / fingerprint
  • All recordings saved in a designated folder (/CallRecorder/)
