Unlike Android, on Windows and computers in general, processes can spawn without being “installed”, so I don’t really know what kind of proposal you are imagining.
I wouldn’t want any running process to require a verified signature, for many reasons, both fundamental and technical.
Though I do think Windows puts a lot of great work into Defender.
Exactly that for Android.
Because many people want to freely install apps for various reasons. And generally, the website url is not virusscam.com so its not necessarily easy for people to know what’s legitimate and what’s not.
And people who are not so savvy don’t know to check APK permissions and stuff.
Why is Windows different in your eyes? There is PLENTY of malware.

I think you are really misinterpreting my point. It’s very hard to compare Windows to Android in this sense, because the workflows are entirely different. But I absolutely support strong security on both of them, and I think what’s practical on one is not practical on the other.
It’s not really about practicality.
