Cancel I just got it up and running the reason it wasn’t working is because magisk was blocked and I got my filter to unblock it…
I don’t know what Shizuku is all I know is that I downloaded from the Play store and it says it’s running now give me exact instructions what you want me to do thanks
Did you install Shizuku on an Android 11 phone that has trouble with cursor apps in general?
If so, can you just test if clicks and gestures are working? This latest apk uses Shizuku to perform gestures using a different method requiring higher privileges, which hopefully works on more Android 11 devices.
How do i run shizuku using termux?
You mean to start the shizuku server with Termux?
Never mind got it
I have Android 11 but it worked fine even without shizuku
Works perfect, can you do that to another mouse called matvt or kco mouse
Yeah that apk tries to see if Shizuku is running. If it’s running it will use Shizuku to perform gestures, if it’s not running it will use the previous method of performing gestures using accessibility service.
Good to see it still works without Shizuku. If there aren’t a lot of people with this issue with cursor apps, I’ll most likely release two separate apks, one without Shizuku code and one with. Thanks for testing!
You’ll have to ask the developers of those apps to support Shizuku
I don’t know if it helps you or not, but matvt is open source.
Yeah it’s definitely doable thanks to the developer, but I just don’t have the spare time right now.
An alternative as @sams-club suggested could be to add a cursor mode to the app, which would be easier for me to do than try to get up to speed with a different app/codebase. It would go against my original intent for the app (to have a fast, albeit less precise, alternative to a traditional cursor app), but it would be for Android 11 users who prefer a traditional cursor and don’t have any other options right now.
Any thoughts on having a cursor mode? I do think the app can replace traditional cursor apps but curious to hear why a traditional cursor might be preferred.
The advantage to cursor is i find it easier to use and faster and simpler for basic users and it could scroll and doesn’t take up the whole screen with lines. could u also add that i could program the button myself by just pressing it or putting in the keycode because not every user would specifically want star to be the activation key?
not trying to be critical, just trying to be users brining in feedback to make the best product and what people would want
No what he’s doing is adding a mouse feature to the app if he does it that way then the grid will need to be activated for the cursor to work what I want is a separate mouse baked into the app
ask the dev of matvt (or the dev of the fork that tries to work on the xp3900) to make a version that works through shizuku.
@wheredidmysleepgo said he can’t make a full fledged mouse app right now.
That’s what he’s doing both advantages a mouse when you need it and a grid when you need to be precise…
No I welcome all the feedback, thank you.
If I implement a cursor mode into the app, I will likely separate them into two different activation buttons (let’s say * for the cursor and # to represent the grid since they seem to match those icons). I will also use the same buttons to deactivate, which means those buttons cannot interfere with the buttons I use to click, scroll, zoom, etc. This means buttons 1-9 and the D pad buttons will be off limits.
Question to everyone: what are the buttons you would remap to?
What do you mean?
How would i move around the cursor? how would i scroll? i would like it on the for the cursor i could choose what the activation key is because for example on the tcl the favorites key is extra so i would want that to be the key i program it because every phone has a different key i would use it just depends which is the extra key on the kyocera phones they have 5 extra keys some people on that phone even program the recorder key to be the mouse activation key so i might want to use those it depends on the phone. I would want it to be hold down the key to toggle on or off use the dpad to move it and the ok button to click and and press once to turn on scroll mode to be controlled with the dpad.
The problem with have shizuku dependency is that when not in snoot you have to restart shizuku every time with adb which is not so practical for the average user
I can’t promise all of that but I can look into remapping.
