Hi, my son is going to study in Canada. What is the cheapest/ best phone plan for a flip phone? No data needed and probably not even text. Must be able to call America unlimited and preferably work in the US as well. I an located in US, so I wasn’t able to sign up for a Canadian post paid plan that looked like a good deal.

Regarding a plan, no idea.
I heard that at&t works in Canada, although if they realize that you’re using it there they may throw you off. Can’t verify this.
Will endup being 20/month if u bring ur own device, includes free roaming in Canada and free calls to Canada/u.s./mexico
Freedom wireless. It’s a Canadian provider, but one of the cheapest over there. Last I checked it’s $20 monthly.

American would be easier, but I didn’t think that was an option.

It’s completely a option. I posted one above (many other US prepaid carriers also include roaming in Canada)
Thanks, but looking at the tos it says “Not for extended international use; primary usage must occur in the US. Device must be registered and used on our US network before international use. Service may be terminated or restricted for unauthorized use.” I don’t know if they actually enforce it. Does anyone know?
It’s based off of Verizon’s roaming policy.
However I have used Verizon roaming (comes with their high tier plan) in e.y. for more than a month (three months) nothing happened it went fine. (Definitely don’t mention it to them…)
Especially a prepaid mvno , much less likely they would audit ur usage.

Yes, but this is much harder to be בוחן specific accounts and track their usage, hotlines it’s easy to find and track (the minutes are much much higher)
