Claude Pro vs Google AI Pro

I’m considering upgrading to a paid AI subscription to help me vibe code projects (my pre-AI coding experience is rather limited). I really like using Claude, and find that the even the lower end Sonnet model that they give is at least as capable of Google and OpenAI’s frontier models, and the usage limit is actually pretty generous (at least for chatting, I don’t do any agentic work that apparently vaporizes tokens).

On the other hand, Verizon has a promotion where I can get access to Google’s AI Pro tier for only $10/month. This comes with lots of extras like 5 TB of cloud storage, Gemini in all your apps (dunno, could be cool) as well as a free $10 cloud credit monthly (that apparently rolls over!), and on top of all that, can be shared with up to 5 members of my family. I’ve actually had Gemini impress me with its help with a few thorny issues, but I still find myself having more confidence in Claude, and it has a much more pleasant user experience.

I’m having a hard time deciding, so if anyone has experience using the two, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Is Claude that much better than Gemini in practice? Do you think that AI Pro’s lower price and other benefits make it a better option? Obviously what’s better for me depends largely on my personal experience, but I think that hearing other people’s thoughts on the matter will help me decide.

Claude is better for coding

but if you need extra stoage then google might be worth it

Personally, gemini pro is great for general use, i use it all the time, and the perks are also nice, but in my limited experience, even claude sonnet is superior to gemini pro when it comes to vibe-coding

Do you find that the usage limits on Gemini are more generous than on Claude?

Claude be Gemini is the easiest question ever :joy:

Claude wins by far!

I have Claude pro and Gemini pro for a while now.

After using Claude frontier models, I find it super annoying to use Gemini even for basic stuff. It’s no comparison at all in my opinion and Claude has it by far

Worthwhile to note, however, that with an AI Pro subscription, you actually get access to Claude models through antigravity. Has anyone had experience with that? Is it as good as a Claude Pro subscription?
