No Ads — Paid Services Aren’t Thread Topics
Any service that isn’t completely free is treated as an ad on JTech. Ads can be mentioned as a solution when relevant, but they can’t be the main topic of a thread.
Fine: Someone asks for / how-to-do something — recommending a paid app as one of several options is welcome.
Not fine: Starting a thread to launch, introduce, or promote a paid product or service you built, sell, or earn a referral on.
This does not apply to:
- Major infrastructure and well-known services (Google, Verizon, Gentech, Twilio, etc.)
- Kosher phone hardware brands (Wonder Phone, Mind Phone, Megalife, Keyphone, SidePhone, Sonim, TCL Flip 2, Qin F21, etc.) — reviews, master threads, and discussion are welcome.
- Genuinely free, open-source, or community-built projects — no subscription, no paid tier, no credits, no referral economy. Those can absolutely have their own thread.
If you’re not sure whether your post crosses the line, message a moderator before posting.
Kosher Adherence Guidelines (STRICT)
As a frum forum, we maintain strong kosher standards:
- No posting about non-kosher apps!
- No ROMs or software containing Non-Kosher Content or access to inappropriate material.
- No apps with In-App Browsers (IABs) are allowed.
- No non-kosher ROMs or ROMs that include non-kosher apps.
- No guides or discussion promoting unfiltering (e.g. bypassing filters, disabling restrictions).
- You may discuss filtering methods.
- You may share clean ROMs, filtered apps, and tools intended for kosher use only.
If you’re unsure if something is allowed, ask before posting. We take this very seriously.

Android modding tools often involve downloading random files from random websites all over the internet. It’s hard to know who to trust, and where to find things. For these reasons, we have chosen not to allow links to random Google Drive accounts or other general file hosting sites.
