Frozen in Fastboot

Ok, so I got a new TIQ Mini M5 after reading here that it is similiar to the Qin (which I love) but doesn’t suffer from band deficiencies here in the good old USofA. Right out of the box - (without ever even booting) I did a full mtkclient backup, because I am so responsible and smart. I then booted went straight to settings, enabled dev options, checked allow unlocking bootloader, installed magisk apk, pushed boot from mtkbackup, patched, pulled patched boot. Quickly jotted down IMEI and other unique identifiers, the rebooted to fastboot using the famous autobooter tool and ran fastboot flashing unlock. Hooray. Probably I should’ve taken care of vbmeta first, whatever. Point is i got this screen and now its stuck. Doesn’t respond to any keys! So much for my backup i can’t even figure out how to shut the thing off. The battery doesn’t come out, and the keys don’t respond. I am FROZEN in fastboot until at least shivasar bitammuz!

Sorry not so clear but totally not interested in taking and pulling a new one so… bkitzur, yeah.

:joy:

Here is the text of the image for any people reading this.

Unlock bootloader?

If you unlock the bootloader, you will be able to install custom operating system software on this phone.

A custom OS is not subject to the same testing as the original OS, and can cause your phone and installed applications to stop working properly.

To prevent unauthorized access to your personal data, unlocking the bootloader will also delete all personal data from your phone (a “factory data reset”).

Press the Volume UP/Down buttons to select Yes or No.

  • Yes (Volume UP): Unlock (may void warranty).

  • No (Volume DOWN): Do not unlock bootloader.

Right now I’m waiting for the battery to bleed out… if anyone has a better idea, or ever took one apart and knows how to replace/disconnect the battery, please lmk. It can probably last a week on a full charge in fastboot mode…

Try an adapter and plug in a usb that has a light on it, or something that can pull power from it.

One of these, don’t remember.

VERY LONG PRESS

power

power + volume down

power + volume up

power + both volume

tried all these. I guess I’ll try a VERY VERY LONG PRESS, and if not, i’ll go with @PleaseSmileToday 's light idea.
UPDATE: Hey @ars18, 10 full seconds did the trick! #FreezerOpensEarly

But if you said that you already did it for a VERY VERY VERY long time and then after holding for 10 seconds it did work then these 23 minutes must have been an eternity.

yeah, bh, enough time to put two kids back to bed for the third time :winking_face_with_tongue:

Just mark this as solved.

Its not general, you can’t

Oh, I genuinely did not know this.

Its the difference between a support topic or a discussion topic

Yeah was looking for a button… oh well, um guys - this questions is:

If you want I can close it as solved… But there is no need, let someone else continue it some other time if they have the same issue

Not the right place to ask, is this an admin control? I don’t see such an option when creating a topic.

You need to unlock with mtk client. Start over. Do a full download and format.
Also I recommend dumbdroid over stock.

Use this guys guide:

Pumped to have you join the tiq family!!!

PS dumbdroid is great. Though only can vouch for t mobile never had Verizon. Also ota updates messed up my root. Dev claims not possible to have both.

yeah, i got the tiq bite. :beetle:
I forgot to mention, I had already done python mtk.py da seccfg unlock, which is most likely why fastboot froze up when i spazzedly (is that even a word?) decided to also run fastboot flashing unlock.
