Its UI is cluttered, ruining GNOME’s signature minimalism.
Take a look at Nautilus.
Just installed nemo to look again. Be more specific plz.
I currently use nautilus, at least on my laptop.
At work I like Nemo, for it’s “connect to server” functionality.
Open Nautilus and Nemo Side by side.
Every single difference that you see makes it look more cluttered.
I hear you. Doesn’t seem like a huge issue to me.
What is missing from nautilus for the average user?

Thats why I’m not sure if its necessary.
Might not be anything that the average user would care about.
- A GUI to zoom in/out
- The max zoom level is smallish
- No share/send to option
- No create new file option
- Opening a zip automatically unzips it
- No home page

I think that’s quite bad and that the clutters isn’t that bad but I guess it’s a matter of opinion
No, people are used to it being opened without an unzipped one being created.

not if you’re trying just to see the content without ‘cluttering’ up your space with an unwanted extraction of a huge project

Just a reminder, I’m not trying to fix what we might find wrong with Linux or Ubuntu, I’m trying to fix what noobs or Win users would find wrong with it.
So when you judge if something is a problem or not, how it affects you or whether you care about it is irrelevant.
as always I’ll say that the default on my holy Manjaro system (Dolphin) is great!!
Just tried it. Don’t see any benefits over Nemo.
Split feature is pretty cool
never tried Nemo. was happy with the default but from this conversation it just seemed that Dolphin probably isn’t bad compared to those.
not sure if Nemo has split feature but for me that’s a MUST. I have it on my phone and on any file manager.
