There is good news though! Weโre working on a new phone model, which weโre calling Dumber Mini, and which we will ship in August. In terms of hardware itโs a nice upgrade over the Doov R77 Pro, with superior build quality (especially the keys!), better cameras, and NFC! The philosophy is still the same - with our App blocker, we think itโs a great choice for those needing a dumbphone plus a few essential apps.
Weโve been testing individual units for the past few months and have confirmed that NFC payments work with apps such as Curve Pay, iCard, and a few local bank apps (not Google Pay, unfortunately).
In terms of software, our operating system will keep supporting all previous phone models to our best abilities, and will continue to be open source. We plan to fix bugs, include security patches, and keep improving its usability on keypad phones.
Dumber Mini can be preordered now in the EU, UK, Norway, Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand. Due to difficulties with logistics, we donโt ship to other countries just yet, for which we are sorry. The batch of phones coming in August will not be compatible with North American bands, but we hope to have a compatible model available before the end of the year.
