SecureGuard MDM (Beta v0.1) – Open Source Android Blocking App Based on MDM

I have no intention (or ability) to replicate it.

  • Theoretically works on Android 5.0 and above
  • However, it doesn’t work reliably on Android 5.0 to 9.0
  • Most Android versions have not been tested!
  • Please test and share feedback.

:bullseye: Purpose of the App

To monitor and block specific functions on Android devices using MDM.

  • :prohibited: Block app installations
  • :prohibited: Block Developer Options
  • :prohibited: Block adding new user accounts
  • :prohibited: Block Wi-Fi access
  • :prohibited: Block Bluetooth file sharing (send/receive)
  • :prohibited: Block mobile data
  • :prohibited: Block hotspot (tethering)
  • :prohibited: Block Play Store installs
  • :prohibited: Block selected apps
  • :prohibited: Prevent app uninstalls
  • :prohibited: Block factory reset
  • :prohibited: Block FRP bypass

:locked_with_key: Important: FRP protection works only if:
You install the app before setting up any Google accounts.
Then, add a Google account through the app.
If the device is later reset, it will request the credentials of that first account.


:glowing_star: Special Features

  • :globe_with_meridians: Full Internet Blocking
    Uses a virtual VPN service to disable all internet access.

  • :telephone_receiver: Call Monitoring (Experimental)
    Logs calls internally via a background service. View logs from within the app.

  • Use the included Windows installer (not just the APK)
  • Open the installer before attempting APK installation
  • Make sure Developer Options and USB Debugging are enabled on your device

What does this mean for eGate?

I’ll just offer features they don’t. Working on it today. Bug fixes and new feature drop incoming.

This MDM is one big BUG

Yeah, I didn’t expect it to be too stable, it obviously won’t effect eGate for a while, but eventually it probably will get better, and eGate will have to feature up to compete.

From all the features that are planned or have been suggested,

  • Remote policy change approval/management
  • Blocking pictures in apps
  • Managed Spy Store
  • Block specific app activities

are probably the ones that would make eGate stand out the most and give it the biggest edge.

Yeah, I know that most of those features probably aren’t easy to implement.
I’m not asking or expecting @FlipAdmin to release an update with these features tomorrow.

I understand that it might take a month or two.
