T-Flip 5G - Australian Flip Phone

T-Flip 5G (Not TCL)

Anyone in Australia interested?

I saw this new 5G flip phone last month that came out recently on telstra (a Australian carrier), but unlike American 5G flip phones, this one clearly says its not 5G SA, but its says “VoNR” on the screen in these renders, so not sure what’s going on with that…

Has only 3 frequency bands, 1 for 4G-LTE, and 2 for 5G

OS is based on a recent Android version, 2GB RAM, 64GB Built in storage, Wi-Fi calling, 2800mAH battery, no eSIM or Touch Screen

Says on their website that they unlock their phones for around $55[1]
It should be able to get someish 5G signal on T-Mobile, if anyone actually imports and unlocks it…

  1. USD :money_bag: ↩︎

I assume VoNR is 5G SA. My understanding is that non-standalone 5G networks don’t use 5G for voice & text, so a VoNR phone by definition supports 5G SA. Anyways, standalone is the type of thing that’s a difficulty on the carrier’s end, not so much on the phone.

While most 5G phones are SA, some are not, like with 4G on phones like the BlackBerry Classic and older Sonim phones. Could be its just Telstra not yet having 5G SA

I reread your original post, I see you wrote it’s not 5G SA. Yeah, that seems to contradict the VoNR part.
