TCL Flip 2 Phone (Master Thread)

done, what now?

okay it gives me the option to choose between two different file managers in magisk. my bad for asking the question before doing anything. but I do have an issue though, The wifi calling zip file from the other thread isnt showing up still

Now install the module from magisk. It will allow you to choose your new file manager to select it.

it’s not letting me cause the zip file won’t show up :frowning:

Place the zip file in the root directory (the place you see when you open up the file manager)

Go on ADB on your PC.

adb shell su -c magisk --install-module /sdcard/nameofmodule.zip

this is where i’m at

The module has to be on the phone, not your PC.

Then what I said above

I have the zip copied to the root of my phone and I tried dragging that into the cmd and it didn’t do anything ;-;

What’s the zip called? Exactly

wificalling.zip. I downloaded it from here: https://forums.jtechforums.org/t/wi-fi-calling-on-the-tcl-flip-2/74/24

If the zip is that exact name, and it’s truly in the root directory on the phone… This will work

adb shell su -c magisk --install-module /sdcard/wificalling.zip

Then reboot

IT WORKED!!! WiFi calling shows up in my notifications and it says ā€œtap here to update the emergency location to enable wifi callingā€ and when I click it it says ā€œunable to update the emergency address at this time, please try again laterā€ so I’ve enabed it! theres just that one more issue lol. I gotta go for a couple hours though. thank you soo so much for all your help. I seriously appreciate it so much

So I believe I’ll have to get a new sim card since my current one does not support WIFI calling. (I’ve had the same one for like 6 years and I don’t remember ever having wifi calling) and I’m hoping once i get the sim I should be able to call via wifi just fine without troubleshooting (since the option now shows up for me, when I try to turn it on it just says ā€œUnable to activate wifi calling at this time. Try again laterā€)

what I wanted to ask though was how do I open Magisk because it only shows up in my recent apps on my phone if I’ve used it recently, and I have been using the phone recently enough that Magisk no longer appears there. Is there a shortcut/dial code for it?

Try using a later version of the module, either by updating it directly in magisk in the module section or by using this https://github.com/symbuzzer/Volte-Wifi-Calling-Enabler/releases/download/v1.1.2/Volte-Wifi-Calling-Enabler.zip

Also did you dial *#*#66384#*#*, I believe you need to do this for Wi-Fi calling to work.

Use this launcher https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZpDwpYfGSVzYwfiPVBuBu1mMqhueQhpE/view?usp=sharing for access to all your installed apps including magisk.

I dialed the code and now I have wifi calling working lol, much simpler solution than I had anticipated. thank you all so much for your help

So I’m still having trouble getting Magisk to show up. I installed the launcher through adb (shown below is how I did it) but neither magisk nor the launcher are showing up on my phone.

Which model phone are you using the TCL flip 2 or a different one

yeah I have the flip 2

edit: I meant yeah as in you’re correct. I didn’t mean to be snarky lol

After installing an app, clear the launcher from recents, then open it up again with the dialer code. See if it appears then.
