The Wonder Phone Experience: Features, Feedback, and Tips

I wanted to share my experience with the Wonder Phone.

Initially didn’t think the Wonder Phone was even an option, since all the ads I saw in the papers focused on the looks of the phone and designer cases. I assumed it was a basic device with limited functionality.

I checked their website and was surprised to see how many features the phone actually has, including Android Auto, Waze, and custom apps with a very clean interface. That convinced me to buy it. I’ve been using it for a while now and I am very happy with it.

I especially like Android Auto, Voice to Text, the Weather app, Hebrew calender app, Zmanim app, and the phone GUI.

It does not have an outer screen, but the notification light together with custom ringtones per contact reduces most of the need for an external display.

I’ve sent the company many suggestions and feature requests. Here are most of the outstanding issues (applies to OS version 1.5.6):

There are a few minor software issues and feature requests, including Android Auto text sending, some Voice to Text inconsistencies, Messages app navigation refinements, and the addition of swipe typing, text blocking, and thread archiving. Other smaller items include indoor camera improvements, Photos app stability and sharing fixes, calendar labeling enhancements, proper call hold behavior, clearer voicemail indicators, more accurate notification light behavior for muted contacts, and improved capitalization in Voice to Text.

They’re releasing updates at a fast pace, and I signed up as a beta tester to receive them early. I really like the phone and expect these issues to be addressed over time.

In day to day use, most of these issues do not affect me, aside from the notification light on muted contacts which can be annoying. They are mostly small refinements that would make an already strong device even better.

My experience with support has also been excellent. They offered a free repair when my phone fell into water, although I ended up fixing it myself. They are usually very responsive and helpful. I would rate support 8/10.

:white_check_mark: I highly recommend this phone to anyone prepared to pay the price.

I need to open a Waze Live Drive link and it does not open.

@WonderSupport are you here?

This depends on which phone the person has that your talking to. I’ve tried putting a call on hold with multiple phones (while talking to a LG exalt) and it hung up after a few seconds saying “Can’t put on hold”. Why did it have to hang up instead of just showing me the message? Don’t know :joy:. Although the LG Exalt cannot put a call on hold unless you make/receive another call, so I think if both phones have the option to put on hold without making another call it should work. Google voice has no issues putting a call on hold even with a exalt, so it might just be a issue if your doing the call with cellular service

Don’t understand the question

Interesting. Whenever I tried it, it just said “Can’t place on hold”.

Waze has an option to share a Live drive that someone else can follow. When someone texts me a live drive link and I click the link, nothing happens. It doesn’t open Waze. It works with Waze deep linking and seems like they need to enable this.

New beta update released.

How much storage does the phone have? 775 MB update is quite large especially considering that they aren’t even adding apps, just functionalities

I can’t imagine that it will be taking up that much storage once installed.

In development: “Adding more third party keyboard options”

As per the music app, why don’t they just use musicolet

Seems like they want their own UI as much as possible.

Imo, Musicolet is the best music app out there. I actually don’t see any real way it can improve. Maybe they could make a custom UI for it but why build from scratch if there’s such a good product already?

I just found out that the wonder phone uses a LG Classic IMEI, that’s why it works on Verizon & AT&T

Hi. Does the Wonder Phone support Visual Voicemail?

But it should still have the CDMA-less issue
