If it’s official codes from Tracfone, your very likely making a mistake when putting in the codes, and maybe try putting them in with Wi-Fi or service. What’s you exact phone model?
Yes it does, the newer versions are remotely unlocked (when connected) hence if a ROM from a older software version was flashed on it doesn’t have the capability to be remotely locked and the remote unlock software doesn’t exist to be connected, and it asks for unlock codes which never existed for the device because the device was intended to only be remotely unlocked and not via codes, the codes TracFone gave you were most likely dummy codes
It’s very unfortunate and I’ve seen this happen to many tcls

@Moshe you should be able to walk into the place you got a filter and they will put a new rom that would make it unlockable.

Yeah they told me to connect to WiFi and they said it’s not connected even it was
