Why are Topics Closed?

Why are so many topics locked removed? Not talking about kashrus just random threads are getting locked or removed.

Also if @TripleU made a guide or topic about chrome’s new os, why do do we need to create a separate discussion for it?

There are so many threads that are locked, even if the solution is provided why not leave it open for someone else to add feedback or follow up on it in the future.

If the mods work so hard to keep the forum organized and if there are so many locked threads then users just need to create new ones…

A closed topic didn’t always mean closed, Used to be that people can post in a closed topic with a warning

@ars18 changed that recently. @anonymousfliphones You can reopen closed topics that don’t need to be closed.

The other reason A topic was closed was to keep it organized with the guide posts and discussion posts in separate threads

To keep the Threads clean, we always had separate topics for Guides and for discussions so that things are easier to find

That makes sense, I also think that guides should have separate threads but should stay open so people can ask questions on the guide.

Then there are topics that don’t need a separate thread, like Google’s operating system aluminum. The op opened it so people can ask and discuss it there.

I recommend that whenever a topic is closed it should have a message at the end. For example “this doesn’t meet Jtech standards” “this is mocking a Jewish company”

This will make all users not feel locked out and provide transparency.

They do have a separate thread for questions open and if its not then just create a new topic and call it “Discussion: Topic Title”

If @moderators want they can go through the closed topics and edit the close message to state the reason
