eGate - Android MDM - Version 1.33 +

Continuing the discussion from eGate - Android MDM - Version 1.26-1.32:

Version 1.33 released

New eGate installer app for Windows. No need to download adb tools. Available in the release downloads.

It also has an ADB logcat capture feature to help with troubleshooting.

We removed the WhatsApp channel/community/AI blocking from the accessibility filter, as there was no path to getting it to work properly. We are exploring other options in the future.

Apps in the eGate app store:

  1. Termux - Terminal emulator and Linux environment
  2. Image Toolbox - Image editor
  3. Home Assistant - Home Assistant
  4. Smart AutoClicker - Automate repetitive tasks
  5. Simple Mobile Tools Gallery - A premium app for managing and editing your photos, videos, GIFs
  6. Simple Mobile Tools Calendar - A simple calendar with events, customizable widgets and no ads
  7. Futo Keyboard - Modern offline android keyboard
  8. Florisboard - Keyboard with glide typing
  9. Magisk - Magisk root manager
  10. SMS Import/Export - SMS Import/Export
  11. LoveLaceAV - Android AntiVirus

We have removed for now the option to access the store without logging into eGate, as we have not vetted all of these apps for IABs.

There is also a new button where you can see our work in progress Messaging app. It’s far from feature complete, but I thought I would show you anyway.

There is also a new button on the Set Device Owner screen, if your device is rooted, to use root to set eGate as device owner.

excited

please remove it makes egate easy to be removed

PM me details on how that works.

With root access? Yeah I can see that

Without? What do you plan on doing that can remove an mdm?

Daaahh… Even without, can lead to huge problems…

:man_shrugging:

Dunno maybe you’re right

List em

I mean… proot browser? You’d need x11 or vnc for that

Maybe there are some stuff I dunno

Termux for sure not…

I meant in Termux

How about an option to set eGate as device owner and to give it write_secure_settings permission with Shizuku?

I think I will remove Termux from the next version. Most normal people don’t have a use for it anyway. The next version will also have a setting to switch whether or not the app store lists apps with IABs. If the device has a packet filter, like some devices I’m selling to certain markets, then IABs don’t matter as much. We have a IAB detection tool that monitors each app for for IABs, so it should be a pretty airtight system.

Many, many more apps coming.

Any way you can implement a way to block IAB’s not using accessibility for all the Qin users out there?
Even with the external filter I find it to be really not reliable.

Explain how that would work.

A better idea would be to try to come up with a fix for the problem with the Qins ROM, instead of a workaround for eGate.

What exactly is the issue?

Background app closure?
