Does anyone else know why im just perma stuck on waiting for device? Could someone explain to me step by step if i need to do anything with my phone while i run autobooter? sorry for my stupidity.
Is the phone plugged in in fastboot mode?
I’m not going to lie. I don’t even know what that means.
power off the phone, run the autobooter, and plug it into the computer. It will then show a black screen and say
=> FASTBOOT MODE
Okay so I plug it in on the phone it shows a battery percentage with a animation of a battery and autobooter says
Have USB attached and then remove/insert battery.
Searching registry for MTK Preloader ports.#
Found MTK Preloader ports:
COM4
Waiting for device.
with a bunch of dots after.
also autobooter wont open unless i have the phone plugged in.
It should open as long as you have the cable plugged into the computer, but if it will only open with the phone plugged in, take out the battery and plug in the phone with autobooter running, and then insert the battery, and then the phone should get into fastboot mode
Or when its plugged in and showing the battery stuff and autobooter says waiting for device, unplug it, wait until the screen is black, and plug it back in
Ok so yes i was able to open it with just the usb plugged in. Also i tried with the removing battery method and tried with the unplugging when it shows the battery stuff and plugging it back in. Still autobooter says waiting for device with dots.
Do I need to press and hold anything or turn on some type of setting? Phone is off I plug it in. it shows tcl logo and then shows battery information. It goes black. I unplug and plug it back in and it still nothing on autobooter, just waiting for device.
so opening with the cable plugged in and the phone off with the battery out, and plugging in the phone without the battery, and then inserting the battery, what happens then?
Okay so cable is plugged in, I take out the battery. I open autobooter. I plug in the phone without the battery. I then put the battery in. It shoes the same tcl logo with battery information afterwards. goes black. and autobooter is still waiting for device.
Ok. Do you have the correct drivers? Do you know if you installed any drivers?
I have installed the mtkdrivers.exe from the neutronscott/flip2/wiki
and downloaded the autobooter.exe that is v2024.06.10b
Did you restart after installing the drivers?
Yes I restarted after installing the drivers. I can try to restart again if you’d like.
Maybe try. I’m out of ideas. Maybe a different port or cable
Thanks, I will try out the restart/different cables.
No luck unfortunately. Might have to do with the model of my phone.
Model number 4058E
Hardware version 03
Software version QK6V
@walkingcak3 if you have the ability I would definitely try using Linux. If it’s a driver issue, that will fix it. If not, then it’s something else.
Android Tools ISO - Autobooter included, just click the icon and it will start.
Password - demo
Edit: forgot I am only supposed to post the kosher one here. Replaced it.
Use Rufus to burn the usb
will this work with linux mint? I have a desktop with linux mint.
