In israel I paid about $350-400 for the unit and installation
How much is that unit?
Depends on the specs, lowest is about 100 with 2/32
I spent about 150 on 4/64, I think…
Backup cam included?
ya
if you have some background in this area you can do it yourself. i did it to my brothers car took me a couple of hours
I think they generally charge hourly for labor.
I just did one exactly like this it’s very easy took me maybe 2 hours
How did the backup camera installation work?
It’s a little annoying basically you have to run a wire from the front of the car to the back of the car and what triggers the camera is the reverse lights power
That I know. Is it difficult?
Not difficult at all
Awesome, thanks ![]()
Getting it tomorow.
Any specific tools I’ll need to replace the dash or anything in general?
After I’m done the backup cam will automatically activate once the brake light goes on in reverse?
You just need some good screwdrivers and a pry tool some zip ties it should go right into the backup cam if you put it in reverse but it does take a minute or two from when you turn on the car for the screen to start so if you want you can hardwire it
Oh, I definitely want it to power up from the car.
the dash usually has click connectors (at least on my toyota 2013) but be carefull takinin out the ones you need aftwerwards since sometime the plastick is so old/ruined it cracks easily
No meaning it will take a minute to start when you turn on the car so your best option maybe too hardwire it straight to the battery this way it automatically starts
Alright, worse comes to worse I’ll take it to a mechanic. Rather not though
One side not fully clicking in, so many wires that I don’t know what to do with, mic sounds like a walkie talkie. Could not figure out the backup camera.
Everything else working, the software is weird but Android Auto and Car play works.
Maybe I’ll try to root it to get rid of all the garbage.
