Looking to hire someone in Brooklyn to finish this up for me.

This has been the journey so far while I wait for a male to male USB to ship.
Downloaded hidden settings app, tapped build number as usual and enabled dev options and USB debugging.
Downloaded wifi adb
and started it.
Connected on my phone via termux.
Lo and behold (not good) su returns a root shell.
I ddād the boot image and pulled to my phone.
Tried rebooting to bl and it worked. Now I need the cable.
Note, when turning off the car when in fastboot, the headunit did not turn off. Needed to insert pin into the reset hole (does not factory reset it).
If I wasnāt impatient and just waited for the cable Iād probably just skip straight to trying mtkclient.
Am i missing something, donāt you already have root?
Yeah, but some weird manufacturer root, which makes me wonder what else they did, like that other device we talked about a while ago.
I want to replace it then make modifications.
I realized after typing all this (why now? I dunno) that we are super weird people, most people just buy a device and move on. I sit in my car for two hours trying to find a way into my headunit thatās held together with hopes and dreams.
Edit: got my male to male cable, successfully connected to mtkclient, dumping firmware now. Thanks @TripleU
New problem @TripleU
Patched boot img, canāt flash through fastboot (too large), flashed with mtkclient, magisk does not recognize rooted boot.
Tried rooted recovery too
Any ideas?
How do I see what the android version really is? Fine manager looks like Android 9
The device has adb root. Maybe Iāll just stick to that unfortunately.
All those systems are the same chip and ROM. You can easily clean flash it over using other models ROMs
I can always try. I bricked it a few times already, and easy restore with mtkclient.
What did you end up doing? Just got this for my brother. Amazon.com: 4+64GB Car Radio for Toyota Sienna 2015-2017 with Wireless Carplay & Android Auto, Android 13 IPS HD Car Stereo with Voice Control Bluetooth 5.2 FM RDS DSP EQ SWC GPS WiFi Backup Camera : Electronics
Specifically what?
If anyoneās interested, this seems like a good installation video.

I just used what was available. Installed a wireless adb app, connected via my laptop and/or termux, and ran whatever I wanted.
Also bought a USB a to a cable and started mtkclient, then started the car. Full backup in case anything went wrong, and it did plenty of times until I was done.
As far as installation, I installed the headunit in the dash myself, and paid to get the backup camera installed as I just didnāt want to deal with it.
Installation seems pretty straightforward from the videos I saw. Just not sure where to put the usbs. would rather not drillā¦
Car already has backup camera so should just be plug and play.
I just left them hanging out the bottom ![]()
Donāt forget the mic
And depending on compatibility and how much patience you have, steering controls.
Steering controls donāt work automatically?
The whole thing is supposed to be plug and play.
Hopefully
Tried booting into mtk client, used c to USB wire with c the going into my laptop
it didnāt show up anyone know the problem?
U have a usb a port on the headunit?
Yes
isnāt that regular?
