which version of the kyocera is best for apps ?
kyocera dura xv extreme e4810 is better for apps because it has a bigger screen
With the E4810.
Is there an easy way to disable the Video playback feature with adb or alike?
He put togther a beautiful spreadsheet, but seems its not an option?
Itâs an activity within the gallery app. You could only block specific activities with root access (which I donât know how to get on the E4810).
I think the e4811 is the one thats easy to root
Yup. Itâs MTK
so how can it be rooted?
Thereâs a program called MTKClient that you can use to pull the stock boot image, unlock the bootloader, and flash back the rooted boot image.
Yeah ik. Never got it to connect though
Sounds like theres no easy way to block it without installing a 3rd party filter.
I donât know if this is as easy as you want, but you can probably pull the gallery APK off the phone, remove the video activity from it, and install it.
If you can send me the APK, I can try modding it for you.
Probably wonât work because you canât install over a system signed app without a system signature
so uninstall it and change the package name of the mod, or uninstall it and install another gallery app with video removed.
That would work.
I can try to pull the package and share it here.
Once you change the package name it wont be connected the camera any more
I checked the gallery on my DuraXe e4830, and I wasnât able to mod it.
maybe try to find another gallery app that works with buttons, maybe try to pull one off of a different phone.
anyone want to share the gallery app of whatever phones you have?
how do you put it into brom?
Didnât work on windows. I used bkerlerâs LiveDVD and did it in Linux. You need MTKClient to unlock the bootloader, but once itâs unlocked you can flash with fastboot
The system is read only, so if you want to make any system modifications youâll need to flash them. Mods with root wonât go through
