Messaging App to Work With D-pad

I am also interested in finding a good Messages app to replace the Message+ app on a kyocera E4610. If any of you all know of anything, that would be great.
I definitely want one with d-pad support, I don’t want to use a mouse pad.

Is there enough of interest here that someone would want to fork the following Simple SMS messenger and build it with dpad support?

Why don’t you use the stock one

Are you asking why I don’t use the stock Message+ app?
Seems like since they are out of support, the MMS continues to cause issues.
Group messages send randomly, pictures often fail to send etc.
Everything worked fine before the EOL of message+. This is on multiple phones.

Or are you asking why I don’t use stock SMS Messenger App from Github?
They don’t have D-Pad support. Either voice access or a mouse is needed to send messages.

MtkMms.apk (10.4 MB)

put it in /system/priv-app/messages/MtkMms.apk
and chmod 644
owner root
group root

Is there any magisk module to spoof the mms profile?

Maybe try this.

What exactly does this do?

Is this a magisk module?

It spoofs the model of the phone making google think that it’s more compatible

Anyone think it’s possible to mod the google messages app in a way that it would work on the exalt with the D-pad and allow “link to pc” and RCS features?

Exalt is probably too old for google messages.

I have a version that works in the exalt but not with the buttons
