Ram Suggestions and Pricing

How can I get this RAM for a normal price or what is the best place to get it from

Crucial 96GB (2 x 48GB)

  • DDR5-5600
  • PC5-44800
  • CL-46
  • SO-DIMM
  • Laptop Memory Kit Model # CT2K48G56C46S5

or if there is something better then that at a better price that is compatible with

The MSI Crosshair 18 HX AI A2XWGKG-012US

Just to make you jealous.

Wanna sell it to me for $1,000 lol

Don’t buy RAM now.

yes I know that that's probably not helpful but RAMaggedon is so bad right now that it just causes me emotional pain anytime I think of anyone buying memory right now. Just wait a few years and I'm sure prices will crash. I'm just going to sit here peacefully on my 64GB laptop ;)

Well I need it for work… anyone have any ideas :sob:

It might be worth downgrading to DDR4 and buying a new MOBO + CPU, it’s that bad.

I don’t care about the price anymore

I ordered this because it said I can upgrade to 96 GB Ram

and now its out of stock everywhere

https://www.costco.com/p/-/4000374413

It was really cheap – only $1,699.99

lol we got 2

Limit of 1 Transaction Per Membership, with a Maximum of 2 units every 7 days

Well it comes pre installed with

32GB (16GB*2) DDR5 5600MHz

so I can sell those probably for a bit

I am not going to compromise by laptops speed for a few hundred dollars

My time is worth more then that :joy:

It really depends on your workflow, it might not make a difference.

32gb retails for about $400 right now on Amazon

I have at any given time

100 Selenium Chrome Processes

50 regular browser windows

15 powershell window running claude code

and more more

dream setup, sound like a lot of automation.

Doesn’t sound like the sort of thing limited by RAM speed (heavy compute). Capacity is probably the bottleneck, so actually probably a good use of DDR4.

I figured

I9 with 24 cores and 96 gb should work without making my laptop slow

Well I use up 95 percent of my Ram on 32 GB and my laptop is frozen half the time…

That’ll happen when you use up 95% of your RAM…

Does it make sense to mix and match and only replace 1 ram stick

so leave 16 gb in one and 48 gb in the other one

or will it just be slow as the 16 gb one?
