Why do you need root? I had the same issue so I flashed the non root boot and RCS is working perfect, it doesn’t care if play store is certified.

I did it via fastboot/mtk and it fixed it

That’s why. There is a resetprop that puts “gms” into ro.product.name (if I remember the prop correctly) that gets rid of the weird screen.
When I tried to build into the system itself, it messed with certification and integrity, so I left it as a resetprop.

i vaguely remember dealing with it when playing around with the ROM, easiest way to remove disable it in config xml but i cld be wrong
You can also edit the launcher APK to return true to “gms” in that prop
