Is it a PlayIntegrity check, or does it do something else? I’ve only ever had basic integrity with this ROM, which is enough to allow me to install apps, and Chase is happy with it too, but could it be messages needs DEVICE level pass (or higher)?

In my experience Google messages requires higher integrity than most banking apps, on rooted qins.

Did you ever get it working? - or can playintegrityfix + trickystore be used to get higher than basic? Add this to the conundrum: I believe it was working with H2O service, but stopped when I switched to US mobile

I never got it working on a rooted rom…

However other people here have claimed to get rcs working on this rooted rom.

EDIT: on rooted qins.

Yes, used to work just fine. I do minimal testing, as I didn’t use it as my phone.

As far as I know, you just need basic for rcs.

Did you update fingerprint too?

I mean, my OnePlus 12 is rooted and I’ve always had rcs.

Just went through the process again and:

Don’t use outdated pif, use pif inject.

I never got more than device integrity and RCS didn’t work

Try clearing messages data

Tried many times

The best way it should work is to flash the phone and then flash the non root boot and it will work perfectly. Of course you will not have root….

@ars18 Would you mind detailing the process? I went through it again and only have basic.
@Yidish Root is just one of the issues that trip play integrity. If I revert to non root, I would still not have a certified device. However, if reverting would fix play integrity, then once messages verifies RCS, I could probably return to root, and it wouldn’t realize…

Didnt work for me on 613

The only thing that doesn’t allow RCS is root.

So after flashing don’t do anything just flash the non-root boot and everything will work.

Because once you play around with the integrity stuff. Even you reset your phone and you remove root. It will not work. So just flash it and then flash the non-root boot and it will work perfectly

I reflashed stock (unrooted) boot. (Not the whole ROM, just the boot). Confirmed no root in Magisk. Cleared data from messages app. Did not fix the issue.

Here

@ars18 Thanks, tried that already. Still only basic. Also, UI change in latest WebUI - can’t actually see the output of fetch anymore. Was getting a TLS error before I updated it, now unsure. Is it just follow this process and reboot, or do I have to clear playstore data as well?
@Yidish

Do you mean I need to reset the device and then reflash? Also, why do I need to unroot? Are there not sufficient tools to hide root from GMS/Messages/PlayStore?

as i said, flash the 613 rom and then remove root and it should work
