You can update magisk but it will appear on the home screen.
Won’t ruin your bands.

On the top it says install I want to know if I should install wtvr it’s saying. Not to do anything update
No, not unless you build from source or edit the app, uninstall old and repatch boot+flash.

And yeah, it probably is rooted, magisk modified to be allowed in system, but the UI logic never changed. It’s what I assume.

“Updated” was the short version. I hid magisk in the app but unhiding didn’t work so I uninstalled the hidden magisk app and when launching magisk in extra settings had to reinstall and it showed up on home screen.
You can extract the magisk apk from the ROM, uninstall your current, then install mine.

I believe this is where I kept it.
adb:
adb shell pm uninstall com.topjohnwu.magisk
adb shell pm install /system/etc/magisk.apk
I believe that’s where it is, check.
