SMS Forwarder for LG Exalt

This app keep crashing on my exalt anyone know why?

Which ones?

install with adb install -g (package path)

It’s still crashing.

It says over here it works with Android 6:

Would we be better off with this?

This resolves this

I reached out to the guy who made it and he said it only supports android 7 and up.

Been using this for a while on the exalt. It works great!!! Thanks @FliphoneBochur.

This is where it came from GitHub - warren-bank/Android-SMS-Automatic-Forwarding: Android app that listens for incoming SMS text messages and conditionally forwards them to other numbers.

The annoying part is when the message gets forwarded it comes up which number it was forwarded from but it doesn’t say the name.

The more sophisticated forwarders would read your contact and include the name in the forwarded text.

If anyone has such an app that would work on the exalt please let me know.

Surprised that any forwarder even works on exalt, how does it work and do both phones get the messages?

It works the way all other forwarders work. Once the app detects an incoming message it simply sends the message to whatever number you set up.

On the second phone it comes up as a message from phone one. The message says “forwarded from 12345678” and then it displays the message.

Surprising enough I receive the message on the second phone before it even shows up in message plus on my exalt. Based off how slow message plus is (which needs a thread of it’s own) as apposed to this light weight forwarder.

The developer is very accommodating and seems to be implementing this feature into his app. Message should include the name of the sender · Issue #3 · warren-bank/Android-SMS-Automatic-Forwarding · GitHub

Here is the latest version. It is modded to work on the LG Exalt. It’s a great super light sms forwarder. The newest version now includes the name of the original sender in the forwarded message. This is done by granting permission to the app to read your contacts.

I was hoping it would directly forward the message…. Right now it just sends it from the number you asked to get forwarded. Maybe there should be a option to choose either one, but I think its not possible to do it anyway

It isn’t possible to do that.

One thing that would be good is having an option that you can text back your first phone and that phone can return a message to the original sender.

An idea wld be to have an id number attached to each forwarded message and if you put that is into your return message to the first phone that wld trigger phone one to send the message.
