How to Make a CAT S22 Flip Work with Verizon (Open Thread)

Will following the guide affect the bands for T-Mobile?

Can I do this if I have @NotABird’s Kitty ROM?

As long as you don’t delete the current T-Mobile MBN file, you should be fine.
If you plan to use T-Mobile again, you can switch back to the original MBN using the same PDC.exe tool, just:

  1. Look for the T-Mobile or default profile in the list.
  2. Right-click it and set it as Sub0.
  3. Activate it.
  4. Reboot.

A few notes on the guide:

Also, just a note, I don’t think this unlocks locked devices. When I first saw this guide I thought that’s what it was, but I think it’s just to get VoLTE from Verizon on already unlocked devices. Cool stuff anyway

I’m not sure I understand. Will doing what it says in this guide make it not work with T-Mobile anymore? Or just adds Verizon volte as well

This post sounds like you’ll need to set it back to TMobile if you want to revert

I just tested it. Confirmed 2 things:

  1. This guide is not to unlock your locked CAT to work with Verizon; it’s just to enable VoLTE data once you’re on Verizon.
  2. @NotABird removed device unlock in his Kitty ROM, so you can’t unlock the phone once you’ve flashed it.

What if it was unlocked before I flashed it?

Then it’ll probably be fine. Only one way to find out…

It works if unlocked before, I might make an updated version with a few tweaks, maybe I’ll add the unlock back

PDC.exe keeps informing me that ********connect to device failed :smiling_face_with_tear:

It can see the device QPST sees the phone and interacts normally it seems. PDC is a wall I keep hitting.

Edit: Resolved, switching USB’s on my laptop seemed to have solved the issue :man_shrugging:t2:

If i remember well, i thi k i flashed the cat so it works with Verizon and because sms didn’t work i just inserted the t mobile sim card and it worked, i didn’t have to do anything,
About sms only Verizon can enable that setting? Or mvno’s can donit as well?

Was it the “CDMA-less” that wasn’t on?
(Mvnos can usually turn it on, for sure us mobile)
