@ars18 will a chromebook work well for this?

@Shalom_Karr
I think you should make this display board thing a official thing etc (like officially do this for shuls)
there is a company BEZEE systems something that does it for shuls and there a rip off! and the market could use another one :face_without_mouth:
(it’s just an :light_bulb: idea)

I already decided that, I am selling it for $2,500 for any shul that wants it. What does BEZEE charge?

You wanna ask your copilot if you’re gonna charge also a monthly fee or only $2,500 once?

$2,500 for initial setup and then a fee per change that they need me for

@anon73695882 What do they charge?

UPDATE: @ars18 the computer came and the screen and I was able to set it up in about 10 minutes

Set the display to last known input? Somewhere in settings

It takes 3 seconds, whatever

I have no idea where that setting is though

Summary

On Hisense TVs (Fire TV, Google TV, Roku, VIDAA), there is no universal “Last Known Input” toggle, but you can force it to return to HDMI instead of the home screen using the correct hidden settings path for your model. The exact menu depends on whether your Hisense is Fire TV, Google TV, or Roku/VIDAA.

Below is the full breakdown so you can match your model and fix it.

:bullseye: First: Identify your Hisense platform

Since you’ve been working with Hisense Fire TV and Hisense Google TV for the shul display board, here are the correct paths for both.

:fire: Hisense Fire TV models (A6H Fire, A4 Fire, etc.)

Fire TV OS loves to boot to the Home screen, but you can override it.

Enable “Power On → Last Input”

  1. Press Settings (gear icon)
  2. Go to Display & Sounds
  3. Select Power Controls
  4. Set Power OnLast Input

If you don’t see it, Amazon sometimes hides it. Then use the alternate path:

Alternate path

  1. Settings
  2. Equipment Control
  3. Manage Equipment
  4. TV
  5. Power On BehaviorLast Input

Important Fire TV quirk

If the TV loses power (power outage, smart plug, etc.), Fire OS may still boot to Home. For signage setups, you want:

  • CEC disabled
  • Sleep mode disabled
  • Auto Power Off → Off
  • Screen Saver → Never

Yeah that’s what I was talking about.

Just trying to prevent wrong display if pc power goes.

I don’t the exact price!
But the difference is,
that their charging monthly!

(obviously, they are a whole professional company, and they have lots of options, Changing the Zmanim thru a portal etc)
I will try to find the exact price!

I would probably do that also, LOL

I actually thought up the same idea a few months ago. I knew BeeZee Systems was the most popular one, I’ve seen it in tons of shuls and their websites lists hundreds of places. But my grandfather is a gabbai in his shul and he manages the screen, which is BeeZee Systems. He showed me the editor and the amount of options there were simply unreal. There were hundreds of dropdowns inside dropdowns with different customization etc. You could literally do anything. And I think AI at this stage with the limited number of credits and its limited knowledge of what yidden would want on a screen, it just wouldnt happen.
I still cant get over how customizable it was.

No they dont. Its a one time fee. AND they give you customer support for free for a while, if you want something specific thats too hard for u to setup.

The thing about BeeZee Systems is that they come in a fancy wooden case to put on the wall, so it looks less like a tv and more like a board.

Example

I just knew in a second I had no chance of competing, especially since I didnt plan on using AI heavily.

Thank you for listening to my life story lol

Ours also does…

Either way, I already designed it for my shul and have it running and put together so it will be much easier to replicate

Yeah but u gotta invest and hope people will but ur product when BeeZee - whos been there longer and probably does it better and is definitely gonna be more customizable - is still around

EDIT: and I made a lot of other more important points in that message
