In the eGtate app there’s an option called “use external accessibility app”, turn that on.
Already did, and whenever I try to open from setting it says accessibility filter has stopped
Open eGate and see what version it is. It says it on the bottom of the login screen.
1.25
So update to 1.26. Maybe the external app and eGate have to be the same.
Here you go: https://github.com/offlinesoftwaresolutions/eGate/releases/download/1.26/app-general-release.apk
Still nothing
Did you give eGate and the external app permission to access accesability?
How would I do that
adb shell pm grant com.oss.egate android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
adb shell pm grant com.oss.accessibility android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
I see in settings a option by accessibility to enable apps and It shows 2 e-gate app filters, and right when I turn any of them on the whole settings shuts
I have the same issue with the app list
I think ver. 1.26 fixed it
I’m aware of problems some people are having with the external accessiblity apk for eGate. I’ve verified that this is a real bug, but I haven’t been able to pin down the exact problem. Somewhere along the line, the external accessiblity apk starts, but silently fails to actually run.
Unfortunately, I’m away from my office for the next 3 weeks, so I won’t be able to troubleshoot this further till I return home.
am i supposed to install both the general release apk and the accessibilty apk.
becuase i did that and it shows as 2 apps on my homescreen
Yes and only use egate
That’s a bug. It’s supposed to show just one. I will fix that soon. But the external accessibility doesn’t work right now, so no point installing it.
Even the older versions?
There definitely had been versions that worked.
What was the last version that was known to work?
